Contacts are important. They are worth developing and cultivating. Start in whatever way you can, and be patient too, but do not give up. Personal contact is most valuable. A news publication or other media is a busy pressured environment and (they) will appreciate occasionally an easy trusted news item. If a miracle happens it is news. If it happens again and again it is still a miracle but it is no longer 'news' and the media are then not interested! Think media.
