Ok I have tried this now with my network connections which are locked
and I do not get any networks visible (windows sees about 10 as does my
M200 running Ubuntu desktop). If I run iwlist scan I get 'wlan0 No scan
results'.
Is there any way I can uninstall the card and reinstall it? Somethin
I tried this, unfortunately both of my connections are open and do not
require a password-not sure if this makes a difference. I did add them
though and nothing works still. I will be back in London on Sunday
where my connections are WEP encrypted and I can try them there. Thanks

Everything worked fine in the live CD/USB session. The problem was not evident
until I installed and applied the 'error 15' fix.
I ended up having to manually configure my wireless lan's SSID and password.
After that, all other available networks were visible from the desktop
