Hi,
I tried to install the flashplugin-nonfree, but it always canceled saying the
md5 sum were wrong. I also tried with a live cd, same result. Maybe it needs an
update?
(MD5 sum when downloading it manually was 93b7c48eaa492237b807a3ae1de65cf9 in
/go/fp9_update_b2_installer_linuxplugin>
tar xf FP9_plugin_beta_112006.tar.gz
sudo cp flash-player-plugin-9.0.21.78/libflashplayer.so

I attached a patch to let the user install flash even if md5sums do not
match. This was the case when Adobe released their new version a few
days ago.

Hi,
I am a flash player dev at adobe and hoping to make the ubuntu + flash
installation experience better (after that slashdot article with the ubuntu
girlfriend :)). What I am seeing right now is that ubuntu provides a flash
nonfree install through the package management system which works quit
kaging issue. I would have
suggested you execute ``sudo dpkg-reconfigure flashplugin-nonfree''.

Not being able to download from the Macromedia site normally indicates
an intermittent network issue, not a packaging issue. I would have
suggested you execute ``sudo dpkg-reconfigure flashplugin-nonfree''.

I disagree with patches of this nature. We should not be implying a security
checksum is something to feel good about when it passes and ignore when it
doesn't.

I would you like than you considered a UVF exception for
flashplugin-nonfree.
Currently the package is completely broken and unusable. It can't
download the plugin and so doesn't do anything useful. [1]
