Hello list! With regard to the above subject my package xoscope fails to build on my ppa on amd64 with the following error:
Function `gdk_gc_get_colormap' implicitly converted to pointer at gtkdatabox_graph.c:118 Function `gdk_gc_new' implicitly converted to pointer at gtkdatabox_marker.c:151 Our automated build log filter detected the problem(s) above that will likely cause your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a pointer is greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64 and amd64. This is often due to a missing function prototype definition. Since use of implicitly converted pointers is always fatal to the application on ia64, they are errors. Please correct them for your next upload. More information can be found at: http://wiki.debian.org/ImplicitPointerConversions the full log is available here: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/54438939/buildlog_ubuntu-maverick-amd64.xoscope_2.0-4~ubuntu1_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz after looking at the wiki page and googling around i have a few questions 1. will defining _GNU_SOURCE be the correct thing in this case? or 2. is there a header file to be defined/undefined in the source file which is failing? or is there any other idea to fix ftbfs? the dsc is available here: https://launchpad.net/~bhavi/+archive/xoscope/+files/xoscope_2.0-4%7Eubuntu1.dsc I hope someone will help me out in this regard waiting for a reply, -- Bhavani Shankar.R https://launchpad.net/~bhavi, a proud ubuntu community member.
