Hi Tony,
I'm using Nexus 4. I didnt try iw reg as I was getting held back by wifi
not working. Didn't have time to troubleshoot. So I switched back to
Android. I will try to give it another go next weekend.

The current media implementation and use of GStreamer is v 0.10
only...nothing takes advantage of v1.0. This will change soon once I land
the new hardware decoding GStreamer plugins, which will only work with
v1.1.3 and above.

today the ubuntu-touch-generic-initrd and the
initramfs-tools-ubuntu-touch packages got merged into the
initramfs-tools-ubuntu-touch source. if you are a developer touching
this package, it is now not necessary anymore to do a no-change upload
of ubuntu-touch-generic-initrd after you uploaded
