I am heavily using the secret chat feature of telegram but it is far from
usable. Very often one of the communicating parties stops receiving
messages and you have to start a new secret chat.

Could you share the following two files from the device:
/home/phablet/.cache/upstart/media-hub.log
/home/phablet/.cache/upstart/application-click-com.ubuntu.music_music_*.log
You shouldn't need any additional codecs. How old is the image on your
