After you connect your device, please see in dmesg if it gets recognized.
It should be there.
For the moment you could try killing adb ($ killall adb) and restart it as
sudo ($ sudo adb devices) and see if it recognizes your device.

As many of you know, there is a problem with the font rendering.
One solution would be to revert the mali video driver back to r3p0.
This didn't work, the device didn't boot at all. I paid attention to the
proprietary files too.
