I raised an issue for this:
- Full disk encryption for Ubuntu Touch using LUKS
There is a bug tracking this at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1464697
Unfortunately while it remains in the plan the work was deferred past
16.04.

We have high level plans to support encryption of user data. It isn't clear
at this time if that will be based on LUKS, eCryptfs, or ext4/f2fs
encryption. We'll know more once we're a bit closer to implementing the
feature but there is currently no set timeline.

I haven't heard of any, but if you make it, either release a port with it
installed and active or release an app, because I'd like it as well

Any official support plans? I'm a little nervous that an update will break
it or it will break the update. I use this as my main device and I'd rather
not lose the data

Are there any plans to have Ubuntu Touch allow LUKS encryption of a mobile
device's entire hard drive like the Ubuntu Desktop version?
