since mid-day today my 14.04 (completely up to date) seems to hang
somewhere in the boot process before syslog starts.
if I power off and boot through recovery, then resume, all seems ok, but no
sign of what went astray in syslog...
this on a System76 gazp8 running 64bit.

Sorry, I just saw #1301655 added to Unity 7.2.1 milestone. This one seems
on track.
How about the other one? #1301607 bothers me more, since on first look
seems to be due to inconsistences between Ambiance and the updated GTK
package.
