HW is the standard abbreviation for "Hardware". If you are unfamiliar with installing any *nix OS maybe you should read the install guide for that OS. I'd try Lubuntu first though, it's a supported variant of Ubuntu (but with LXDE instead for its desktop environment). *Sent from my iPhone.
