Well if the same setup works on other machines of the same type, except
that one, I would suspect that there is a problem with hardware. My
personal experience with Sun hardware is actually quite bad, so i I

after changing the BIOS back to IDE mode and thus detecting the disks, i
booted up a livecd and proceeded to simply delete the partitions on the
disks with gparted. then, rebooted and changed the BIOS

i am pretty green to setting up linux servers but, it's what i've fallen
