so there are chances that this has been backported in Testing /
2.2.2-pre1 (released today).
No, it hasn't been backported as far as I can see, so this is something
that needs to be done for nut-2.2.2-pre2. Since we have active maintainers
Steve, I seem to be currently unable to reproduce the behavior.
I will attempt to do so again when the release version of Hardy is out.

status function for init scripts
These patches all seem to be missing a versioned dependency on the
version of lsb-base that will provide this new status_of_proc function.
They also don't take into account that several of these init scripts use
set -e, which makes exit $? a completely redundant no-op...

Using this script with the following commands totally fixed the shutdown
problem.
I leave this I found in the forums, maybe the developers can include it
to totally fix this BUG that it's present since Edgy.

You
Hi all,
I've been trying for several days to reproduce this problem in Hardy,
without any luck.
Can anyone confirm that this problem is endemic in Hardy?
If so, can you please provide very detailed instructions to reproduce?
Also, please note your udev version.
Thanks,
:-Dustin

ldap
I only got the problem when I was using groups: ldap files in
nsswitch.conf, and without the bind_policy soft in ldap.conf. Changing
to groups: files ldap and bind_policy soft resolved the problem for me,
though I'm not sure of the udev version as the machine has been
reinstalled several times in
nevermind MrTuTu.

With all the stuff happening with usbhid-ups and with a lack of free

sshd still understands the old option name, FYI.

Scott, do you have any comments on the proposed fix for this bug? It
seems to me like a straightforward solution to defer starting the getty
on tty1 until after the rest of rc2 has finished. Perhaps the proposed
patch isn't future-proof against other services being migrated to use
upstart events
