I successfully installed raid 1 on an Ubuntu Desktop 8.04 64-bit machine
according to Martiis intructions:

The only thing missing in Martiis instructions was
sudo update-initramfs -u (thx to Alexander)

I don't think I really have *a lot* of 3rd party applications installed,
but almost every one needs their own repo. None of it should have
touched the aliases file. I have Miro, Wine

Debdiff for the security update in hardy
This is based on Simon's patch but applied over 2.41 (minus the version
change in config.h, plus the fix_fd call in network.c). Not heavily
tested.

The second patch is not required because we can just fix the patch. But

To make likewise-open use the default domain, you can add the following

winbind use default domain = yes
Then restart the likewise-open-service. Users now don't have to type the

I see from the dpkg log that you have a lot of software from 3rd party

your aliases file?

Hi,
I did not test this issue on lastest Ubuntu.
For information, in Debian Lenny/Testing this issue is fixed into
"/etc/rc.local" :
# Create the PrivSep empty dir if necessary
if [ ! -d /var/run/sshd ]; then
mkdir /var/run/sshd
chmod 0755 /var/run/sshd
fi
See full file in attachm
rc.local, bootmisc.sh - either way, it's seems trivial enough to me (yet
I managed to get my patch wrong, aaargh!) and I hope this will be fixed
soon.
Btw, Debian had this fixed in 4.3p2-2 (05/2006) where they were
referencing the LP bug and #453285 (when starting sshd from inetd) has
been fixed w
Correct my if I'm wrong, but it looks like the patch file is not
actually in "/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts"? If you downloaded the
file to any other location, you need to specify the full path when
executing "patch".
