I don't know. I had installed "Add to Ubuntu" Mythbuntu. Run MCC and
checked "Primary Backend". It had to install some mysql server and gave
this failure

Seems like Jeremy Allison pushed a fix for that to git on 2008-12-08
already.
However, the reporter of the samba bug is experiencing the same issues

There is only one user- debian-sys-maint without password!
There is no point to readme or something else. So i tryed root user and after
hours of installing-uninstalling

turned on encrypted swap at the same time (swap LV on top of
LVM+encryption). Anything that makes heavy use of swap on my desktop
now brings the whole system to its knee
