Same here. This work in Ubuntu 7.10. In my case prepend is not
considered even in Wired or Wireless.

I was making one transfer now, from my Ubuntu 8.04 to my XP and noticed
the slow transfer. Here I am reading this bug and reporting that it

Is this ever going to be fixed for the stable release? The repetitive
error mesasges about /proc/*/net/if_net6 came to my attention while
looking for something else, which led me to this bug. It seems to have
been first reported for a version that's still in Ibex, though there's a
bumped version
ack nomination as SRU candidate. Once we have confirm that the patch
fixes this, we should upload to -proposed too.

This was Dapper. I have since rebuilt the server with Intrepid roughly
following the Ubuntu Server Guide and did not have this problem.
However, the last I knew, my hack to the init.d script to munge the
permissions was still necessary.
