IMHO, this is a valid bug because the software doesn't work as expected. It
just doesn't accept --ec2 flag.
In fact, I have to downgrade to 0.11 (version shipped with karmic) to get this

i've the same issue, it's a very bad time for me to have this issue...
daemon.log shows only this :
May 17 19:05:28 sd1 init: mysql pre-start process (4506) terminated with
status 1
nothing in kern.log
in safe mode, it works.
It seems that some ubuntu specific init scripts is wrong here
home isn't a mail_location path. It's home path. In your ldap mailbox
should look like this:
/home/mail/x...@xyz.com
If it looks like:
maildir:/home/mail/x...@xyz.com
then you are using that wrong.

fields that are supported.

ok, it looks like the purpose of the patch is to avoid path starting by
".." and have every path hardcoded.

All I did to the server config (which is the config in bug description)
was add tcp-nodelay. I didn't alter anything in the client config, I
just listed it in case you wanted it for testing.

What do you mean? Mysql root password is not empty. Should i put it somewhere?
I've read on the ubuntu forum that it's actually a problem with mysql
upstart script.. So at first i was doing "sudo -u mysql mysqld" after
each boot, then i copied an init.d script from an other machine. Both
