I've resurrected this to precise-proposed. Not going to do quantal just
yet for two reasons: (a) I want to have a discussion with the folks who
felt removing this was the right thing and, (b) I'll need to review
quantal's upload, since it was not accepted by ~ubuntu-sru the first
time around.
--
I did the removal. I have zero objection to re-upload without the
private bug. I removed it for reasons of project transparency.

But otherwise it sounds like it looked the same - VM still up but its
network down?
Had these VMs been running for 50 days, or was it that you hadn't seen
the problem in 50 days? If the latter, could these have been on a newer
kernel?

I have successfully built vms by adding the line

I see. So messing with the cloud.cfg broke the system. My bad.
Thanks for the time
I've opened a ubuntu/nova task for this. It is reported to me that the
openstack cluster that I was working against (known as canonistack) is
running folsom 2012.2-0ubuntu3~cloud0.

BTW, as an SRU team member, +1 for this going through. Its not so much a

Lucid to precise is very much a supported update path. Can you try to
get your patch included in Debian? We should then backport the patch to
