FYI, From a security point of view, I would much rather support 2.0 than
to support 1.7 with a zillion patches. Qemu is a package that does get a
_lot_ of security updates, so being closer to a released version is
preferable.

I've recently seen a somewhat similar situation:
- Celery went down for a while.
- Celerybeat jobs accumulated in RabbitMQ.
- When Celery came back up, it spun manically, going through hundreds of
old jobs.
However, neither Celery nor RabbitMQ showed signs of falling over. They
were just busy.
I'm pretty sure the arch changes haven't landed yet, right? (mapping the
values of uname -m to the names we'll be using for the juju
packages/tarballs)

one of the causes for the increases memory usage with the gccgo built
binaries.
This feature is not planned in the 14.04 timescale for gccgo.
