Note that instead of editing /etc/init/smbd.conf (which can mess up
package upgrades), you can create a file named /etc/init/smbd.override
and put the line there. Works fine for me, and solved the problem.

To reproduce Attach a screen session when logged into X in a terminal
emulator. deattach a screen session and log out. Log into a tty and
reattach the screen session. Then in another tty run sudo service
lightdm restart. Then log back in to any session either lxde or openbox
Bug occured during update from Kubuntu 13.10 to 14.04 and let the whole version
upgrade fail.
I've created the directory "/etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d" manually. Then
"dpkg --configure -a". That solved the problem.
Nevertheless, the cleaning up task from version upgrade did not run, so I had
2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2 is in LTS, this bug should be closed.

I confirm that crashes with spice have been solved since I installed qemu
2.0-rc2 from source.
About the Trusty's qemu package qemu I cannot try it now, I'll use it when I'll
migrate my work laptop to Trusty, perhaps one of the following weekends.
However qemu 2.0 defined by including the

Experiencing the same issue on my 1101HAb. Tested in Lubuntu 14.04 LTS
with current release's kernel (3.13) and upstream's kernel (3.15rc2).
The good news is, another 1101HA in the house doesn't exhibit this
