No, that patch only changed the m4 file, not configure itself. Also,
was just a suggestion (and it didn't work :)

Ok, that explains it. I'll update the profile with what you found and
the other missing pieces, which I suppose you also had to add.

@Locutusofborg,
Not sure how 0.99.2+dfsg-6ubuntu1 would have fixed the build failure?
Per https://launchpadlibrarian.net/306511078/buildlog_ubuntu-zesty-
amd64.clamav_0.99.2+dfsg-6_BUILDING.txt.gz, llvm 3.9 was used to build
the last successful version.

I just tried today on a xenial long-running container that I have and
there was one update available: vlan. byobu correctly flagged it with a
red "1!" in the status bar after a few seconds.
I then upgraded (dist-upgrade), and a few seconds later (less than 10)
then "1!" disappeared.
byobu 5.106
Thanks for filing this bug in Ubuntu.
Could you please try to reinstall libclamav7:
sudo apt install --reinstall libclamav7
And report back here.
Thanks!

You have global DBD options, and then you have to use further Auth*
