Thanks for filing this bug in Ubuntu. Where exactly do you see these error messages about the filesystem being read only? I installed both packages, configured a realm, added a principal, and I can kinit just fine, and I see the requests in the system logs: /var/log/auth.log:Dec 6 12:25:02
