I have tested this bug this way.
1) With the newest setup with all upgrades installed (Ubuntu Gnome)
there is 6-8 sec slow down when shutting down or rebooting. No delay at
start up.
2) I then downgraded the package isc-dhcp-client (4.3.3-5ubuntu9) to
isc-dhcp-client (4.3.3-5ubuunutu5). Also the

If this were a library used in a game or a bug in a screensaver I could
see letting a formatting error in a string crash abort any program using
the library sit for a year. I'm staggered really to experience this for
a package as widely touted as gnutls, contending to be a replacement for
openssl,
Kindly notice that the fix mentioned above for .40, was dated not quite
a year ago.

I am facing this issue on intrepid and jaunty using wired connection (with NM
in system mode).
Even before reading this thread I went through moving S31umountnfs.sh up in the
rc0/6 scripts in order to find the critical tip. For me this was S20sendsigs
(as described by Thierry), i.e. S19umountnfs
$ postconf myhostname linux1.hsd1.pa.comcast.net.
$ cat/etc/hosts no such file or directory
$ cat/etc/hostnameno such file or directory

I'm still getting this error as well with 8.04.2 - however, when I installed
Squid and ran ab again; the same error showed up as well.
I checked, and all requests are served from Squid's memory cache.
