All right, I got the dependencies happy finally. Pulled down the
following packages:
libpam-smbpass_2%3a3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2.1~lucid~ppa1_i386.deb
samba_2%3a3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2.1~lucid~ppa1_i386.deb
samba-common_2%3a3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2.1~lucid~ppa1_all.deb
samba-common-bin_2%3a3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2.1
Thanks, I flushed out the previous PPA's and added that one. I see it
now.
The samba package depends on:
* samba depends on libwbclient0 (= 2:3.5.8~dfsg-1ubuntu2.1~lucid~ppa1)
Which libwbclient0 is not on our servers. Did you build your package
some other way than the official Ubuntu 10.04 ones?
I checked back this evening on this topic. Now I see Samba package files
at the URL in #15.
However Samba does not show up here:
https://launchpad.net/~clint-fewbar/+archive/mogile
So not a surprise that I am not offered to move to that build of Samba.
More assistance please.

Aaakkk!!! @Till Kamppeter I updated this report a couple of times.
Resetting the Samba ticket back to new as I feel the addl testing done

All right, I retested this via testing Samba Port based printing which I
used until SpoolSS / Point-n-Print was not working properly in Samba,
back in v 3.0.2 time frame. That works properly allowing the check boxes

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: samba
This was not an issue with the Samba builds with Ubuntu 9.04 / 9.10. I
upgraded a couple of servers to 10.04 LTS (Lucid) and that upgrade
killed the Envelope Feeder on all three official / latest HP drivers
available for LaserJet LJ 4000 printers.
As I stated on 2008-07-31, I traced the problems back to Compiz, so
purged compix* packages from my 8.04 systems and that cured the crashes.
I have done some preliminary testing with 8.10, setting the GUI affects
to the lowest possible mode - which also makes the Workspace Switcher
behave the way
This problem still existed with compiz.
My work around was to purge the compiz* packages off and reboot.
I would be willing to put compiz packages back onto a test box. In the
testing I had done, nothing ever showed up in the /var/.crash/ so where
would we begin tracking down this crash?

I have purged compiz* packages from the test box, rebooted, and I
believe Metacity indeed took over with the absence of Compiz.
Movie files play fullscreen successfully in Totem, without fiddling with
the toggle applet. So for now I will use that modification for deploying
8.04.

Digging a bit deeper...
Fullscreening mpeg and avi files run from the Desktop started crashing
once I had reloaded the test workstation with the release version of

However, I just discovered:

BINGO! I think this needs to be reassigned yet again.

Might also explain why I get a security prompt when I double click the

Today I reloaded my Hardy test box with the release version - formatted
all partitions. Problem as described still exists.
The test box has an empty /var/crash directory. I decided to investigate
if the PID really goes away. I discovered something I think is rather
odd.

Greetings Nick-
Other than the single file from some time ago in /var/crash I am seeing no
other files in that directory. Please refer above:

So, if that means "it is not crashing" I do not know. All I know is that

Greetings Steve-
I have been all around on thus bug. First I thought it was a Totem bug,

Since Hardy 8.04 is going to be a LTS release, I find it odd that Ubuntu
has not moved to the 5.2.5 version which per www.php.net was released
back on 08-Nov-2007.
Could someone please shed some light on this point? Thanks!
