In /etc/auto.master if I change:
/net-hosts
to
/net /etc/auto.net
it works...

I am having same problem with auto.net. When I try to cd to /net/salmo
(one of our servers) I get in syslog:
automount[234566]: key "salmo" not found in map source(s).
