I don't know. Seems rather late in the release cycle, and the newer
version doesn't seem to have been packaged in Debian either. Though,
I've forwarded the issue there, and attached a bug watch to the other
bug.

Pycountry 1.8+ds1-0.1 is available in Ubuntu 15.04 and later, so I
believe this issue can be marked as Fix Released. For those who have
noticed there's an even newer release which haven't been packaged yet,
please see bug 159.
