Thanks, your kernel configuration is the problem then. You have
# CONFIG_BRIDGE is not set
You can work around this by either compiling a new kernel with bridges
enabled, or, if you don't plan to use bridges anyway, you can disable
the lxc-net upstart job by editing /etc/default/lxc and setting
added requested items

thanks, very interesting. lxc depends on bridge-utils, so my guess is
that your custom kernel actually does not support bridges.

Still not working after container was created. Upgrade of lxc failed
also.

Invalid bug - after reboot I ran
sudo lxc-create -t ubuntu -n my-container
and that works.
Just needs container created.
