My hunch is that Trusty is not loading the UDF module.
$ sudo blkid /dev/sr0
/dev/sr0: LABEL="rd_rdfe_stable.131122-1638" TYPE="udf"

On a Saucy system, the following appears in dmesg:
[ 29.072953] UDF-fs: INFO Mounting volume 'rd_rdfe_stable.131122-1638',
timestamp 2013/11/27 16:53 (1000)
Which means that the UDF module is likely not getting loaded.
