Public bug reported: I deployed a machine successfully and then tried to release the machine and it shows 'Releasing Failed' in the MAAS web UI. In the maas.log I see the following:
Aug 10 15:23:31 kernelstack-maas maas.node: [INFO] bluecap: Releasing node Aug 10 15:23:31 kernelstack-maas maas.node: [INFO] bluecap: Status transition from DEPLOYED to RELEASING Aug 10 15:23:31 kernelstack-maas maas.power: [INFO] Changing power state (off) of node: bluecap (node-9511ff4e-3544-11e5-b83c-00163e4533f1) Aug 10 15:24:15 kernelstack-maas maas.power: [ERROR] Error changing power state (off) of node: bluecap (node-9511ff4e-3544-11e5-b83c-00163e4533f1) Aug 10 15:24:15 kernelstack-maas maas.node: [INFO] bluecap: Status transition from RELEASING to FAILED_RELEASING Aug 10 15:24:15 kernelstack-maas maas.node: [ERROR] bluecap: Marking node failed: Timeout after 7 tries If I check the power state in the UI after this it shows the machine is actually powered off. I can verify this via ipmi and via iLO (since this is an HP machine).
