Ubuntu better, but unfortunately I've been unable to duplicate this bug.
The devs are going to need to know which version of Samba and which
version of Ubuntu this is happening on. Currently, I'm running Ubuntu
8.10 with Samba 2:
Thanks for response.
I am running the same. Maybe the problem is, that the system is upgraded from
7.10 and 8.04.
I will try to reproduce it in fresh installation.

It's even much more worse. I installed fresh Ubuntu 8.10. Everytime I
tried to create usershare it told me that the service is not installed.
So installed it and restarted X session. But then it told the same
again. When I canceled the reboot of X and tried to create share it said
this:
/var/lib/s
Update of system seems to solve all of this stuff.

** Description changed:
Binary package hint: samba
Usershares of Samba don't work without manual fix of directory rights.
load_usershare_shares: directory /var/lib/samba/usershares is not owned
by root or does not have the sticky bit 't' set or is writable by
anyone.
Solution:
Hi,
I have the same issue in my samba shared directory.. I'm not able to
rename the folders after giving complete permissions. I'm currently
using Ubuntu 9.04... This problem happened after i upgraded to my Snow
leopard 10.6.3 and even i have "unix extensions = no" but still have the
same issue
