If you plan to upgrade to Jaunty, keep us posted if the problem persists.

Eh, thanks :)
I've tried unsuccessfully to reproduce the setup, works for me under Intrepid.
Just to be sure, could you please give me the output of the following command:
testparm -v -s | grep usershare
Then you can uncomment (by removing leading ;) the following line in
/etc/samba/smb.conf:
;
Hi,
This is the command you request me :
rem...@nkbp:~$ testparm -v -s | grep usershare
Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf
Processing section [printers]
Processing section [print$]
Loaded services file OK.
Server role: ROLE_STANDALONE

Hi, my share public is in my home directory : /home/rems14/Public.
I know that. Could you test sharing *a directory in a subdirectory of
your home directory* (for example, sharing /home/rems14/shares/Public).
There were some issues in the past about sharing something directly
under your home
I set loglevel = 4 in the smb.conf file.
In the attached file, there is the log of this command :
rem...@nkbp:~$ smbclient //nkbp/public
Enter rems14's password:
Anonymous login successful
Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.2.3]
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME
Thanks
Other information:
Which precise version of samba are you running ? Please give the output of:
dpkg-query -W -f='${Package} ${Version} ${Source} ${Status}\n' | grep samba
What are the permissions of the /var/lib/samba/usershares/public file ? Please
give the output of:
ls -l
Sorry for multiposts !!!
I've tested to share in subdirectory but no change.
