Ok, I did the registration already, and it appears to have succeeded. I
guess this bug should be closed as Invalid for now, i will try to figure
out what happened with the registration.

You will see this exception when one tries to use walrus (upload) before
the walrus service has been registered with the cloud controller. The
registration command (run on the cloud controller machine) is:
euca_conf --register-walrus
