I have the same issue with sudo not obeying ctrl+c.
However, I don't think that winbind is the reason why. I use a fingerprint
reader so I had to add my own auth line.
Here is my /etc/pam.d/common-auth:
authsufficient pam_thinkfinger.so
auth[success=1 default=ignore] pam_unix.s
I suspect it's a side-effect of using the PAM stack here.
