You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: upstart
On a Lucid machine, the 'reload' command sometimes complains that a job is unknown, even though there is an entry of that name in /etc/init.d and 'service $x reload' works: m...@lithe% sudo restart postfix restart: Unknown job: postfix m...@lithe% sudo service postfix status * postfix is running m...@lithe% suod st m...@lithe% sudo start postfix start: Unknown job: postfix m...@lithe% sudo service postfix restart * Stopping Postfix Mail Transport Agent postfix [ OK ] * Starting Postfix Mail Transport Agent postfix [ OK ] I think I've also seen this with other jobs than postfix. postfix does start at bootup on this machine. postfix doesn't show up in 'initctl list'. Perhaps its init script is somehow out of date with upstart? ** Affects: postfix (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid -- "unknown job" trying to restart postfix https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/579274 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
