Just for reference to anyone looking here. I've added 'vendor_data' to
openstack nova under the blueprint at
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/nova/+spec/vendor-data . The intent is
to support this in some way under cloud-init.

Hi Alex, thanks for the detailed feature request.
I've marked this as Triaged in Ubuntu, since its also been sent upstream
to cloud-init, and Scott seems willing to take a look. It also sounds
like a cool idea. Setting Importance to Wishlist.
