I can't reproduce this bug on my laptop with 3.0.0-11-generic
#18-Ubuntu. I'm going to re-target this to the kernel, as it appears
most likely to contain the regression.

Virtualization extensions where disabled form the BIOS. kvm runs fine
after enabling them.
Though anyway, kvm should not crash the machine because of that.
