nova-manage db sync is normally pretty fast on a fresh installation so
this is quite unusual.
What type of database are you using with nova? Unless you specify it
will use sqlite (file created in /var/lib/nova).

I'm using a MySQL database but when you install OpenStack with apt-get,
of course at this moment, you can't configure OpenStack; so the nova-
manage db sync command called by apt-get creates a SQLite database. It's
after the installation you can change the database from SQLite to MySQL
in the nova
The installation of OpenStack is from scratch but Ubuntu has been
upgraded from 11.10 to 12.04.

The apt-get install nova-common command stops on the message:

I've retried the installation and waits.
The nova-manage db sync command called during the installation of the
nova-common package completes after 10 minutes which is a very long time
for my opinion.
Could you explain why it is so long ?
