Hi, It is fixed by the latest system_config_printers; you can now navigate to a server/network and expand windows XP clients.
Thanks. Thanks chuck ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Cannot setup remote printers to Windows XP from Ubuntu 10.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575917 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “samba” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: system-config-printer In pre-10.04 LTS versions of Ubuntu you could navigate to an Windows XP machine with a shared Printer and start using it. In Ubuntu 10.04 if you navigate to a Windows XP machine you just get the print$ share with a load of files under it. It used to show you an icon of the available printers. Also using the System|Admin|Printing CUPS thing you cannot "scan" the network and find a printer. Something isn't working properly? I don't know - sorry. Is it Samba or CUPS?
