Thomas, I'm experiencing this problem on Raring. The uvt version (in

I upgraded to Raring completely -- this isn't a frankenmonster :) --
after having successfully working 12.04 LTS and 12.10 configurations.

Looking a bit further, I'm pretty sure this is a different form of bug
1103881. This form is because libc was upgraded, and, as it is a
dependency of upstart, it invokes 'telinit u', which restarts upstart

The place where this would most likely be seen is if you had:
apt_upgrade: true
and there is a kernel upgrade, you'll not get the new kernel.

I've verified this is still an issue with the following user-data on upstart at
'1.8-0ubuntu1'.
This is re-creatable via the most recent daily image
(ubuntu-raring-daily-amd64-server-20130403). I used ami-88a4c1e1.
But you can download and recreate as above. The user-data provided to

create 2 jobs, one invokes reload-configuration, the other just writes
something to /run. We add those jobs to a pristine raring container,
start it, and expect them to run. Only the first will run. I've

My machine has Windows 7 on it, which never crashed due to overheating
in 3 years, and still isn't crashing.
It is a bug on how Ubuntu handles my hardware, controls the fan speed,
CPU freq, I dunno, but it certainly ain't an hardware only problem!
