Morning All, I have reinstalled completely from scratch. The same problem with /build/buildd/linux-rt-2.6.28/arch/x86/kernel/signal_32.c still exists. This is probably why the system was unable to recover earlier. Please note that initial reference from yesterday to dpkg was a red herring.

Asmo Koskinen kirjoitti: Try Ubuntu Studio 8.04 LTS? It uses very same theme. Maybe 8.04 is more stable on your laptop. One option is use 64Studio 3.0 Beta - it uses Ubuntu 8.04 as a base system, but has own kernel. So you can use Ubuntu Studio theme on 64Studio.

Decided to chicken out of the kernel building, because my main notebook has been out of work now for over a week. Instead I shall use non-RT kernel Ubuntu for the moment. I have some free space on the disc where I can think about building an RT kernel later. Gustin Johnson wrote: -BEGIN

It would be nice if there was a Ubuntu Studio with the Sound Blaster X-fi sound support builtin.. If possible.. I have an X-fi but Ubuntu doesn't offer support for it. -- Ubuntu-Studio-users mailing list Ubuntu-Studio-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at:
