OK, I found the package here:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/all/fluid-soundfont-gm/download
I installed the .deb, but I'm not sure what it actually does. I have to
learn more about how sounfonts work. Does the .deb create a .sf2 file I
can load into Fluidsynth/Qsynth?
I've
They're all vinyl, who wants that quality? If they were digital though... :)

I love it when someone lights a pack of firecrackers and tosses it into a

Since artists are flaky and Ive gone through about 4 of them trying to
get a GDM made I had to do something simple by myself. Based off a Novel

Thanks for your input, guys. Can't believe I didn't think of just
plugging one physically into the other! But that's true, what a path.
I might as well give Hydrogen a try--bpm are bpm, and I hadn't thought
of that. I was playing with it earlier and thinking what a shame, it's

I finally discovered why I couldn't run Creox and practice guitar using
Gtick for a metronome: Gtick is for OSS, and it throws up the error
Couldn't start metronome. Please check if specified sound device
and sample file are accessible
if I try to start it clicking after opening

I recently freshly installed Ubuntu Studio Gutsy on a machine w/ Asus
mobo, Intel onboard sound (fancy surround outputs etc. but I can't vouch
for quality), and am running the realtime kernel.
Regular system sound has always worked fine, but I haven't been able to
get Jack-based sound working
Count me in too, for silent media insertion, with just the icon showing
up on the desktop. Keeping the CD creator in the context menu sounds
good, but associating with K3B etc. isn't a bad idea either.

Cory,
I'm kind of in the same category as Bill. I edit for a living, and I'm
an UbuntuStudio user interested in using and improving a/v apps, but
I've got just a little experience in an app or two. If you could use
another hand, please let me know.
