As far as I know, Hydrogen uses some preferred audio system, which can
be different from the one that all other softwares use.
For example, /Jack /for Hydrogen (and preempts the soundcard) and /Alsa
/for the rest.

FYI - Roland midi drums works with Hydrogen, between laptop and
midi-drums I used midi/usb cable: Edirol UM-1ex.
Never mind xruns on that screenshots - some unknown hardware reason to
me rt-kernel (Gutsy) do no boot on that laptop. We also run out of
pattern size (Hydrogen recorded over old
