Hi Pete, i use Docfetcher, an excelent open source soft writen in java (runs in windows, mac and linux). Beside names, it seaches for contents inside files and show the results in a side pane. Find pdf, doc, docx, txt etc. http://docfetcher.sourceforge.net/en/download.html Regards, Fredd Oliv

Any suggestions about the best way to search for documents based on key words inside them? (Back in earlier times, on Windows, I used Copernic, but there doesn't seem to be a Linux version.) I am happy with my ability to search filenames. Just that sometimes I am not bright about filenames I choose
