Hi UTC team! Just a short announcement what will change with firefox-3.6:
Firefox 3.6 just hit the archive for Lucid and with it there will be some changes in handling Firefox translations. The currently existing firefox-3.5 and xulrunner-1.9.1 templates will get merged, then the old ones will get disabled. The new location for translating firefox is: source package: firefox template: firefox-3.6 -> will get renamed to "firefox" once the transition is done domain: firefox-3.6 -> will get renamed to "firefox" once the transition is done I'm currently in the process to upload the upstream translations for Firefox-3.6. After that I will export ff/xulrunner translations done in Launchpad, build XPIs and upload them into the new template. I will try to merge 3.0 and 3.5 translations, so that we have all user contributions ready in 3.6. I guess I will be busy with this for the rest of the week. Next week I will be sprinting in Portland, OR and will do the necessary changes to langpack-o-matic and po2xpi. Once all changes are in place, FF-3.6 will probably be backported to all stable releases and with it the translations. I would suggest that translators refrain from editing the firefox and xulrunner translations until the transition is finished. Once everything is done, we will need new -base langpacks for all releases. Xulrunner will probably get moved to universe, btw. Cheers Arne
