router only, then I would be inclined to maybe try remove power from
the router, then re apply power. Then re boot the PC. Then if your
numbers still do not work, then try more conventional numbers such as
192.168.1.1

The problem has been solved by my son. It all happened over the
telephone and I gathered that something was set to static instead of
active. So I commented out some lines using gedit, saved and rebooted.
Network Manager became active and the router is connected to the
internet.
