My name is Dante, big fan of Ubuntu and all that; but I have a problem, and
I wonder if you guys can help...my laptop hates Nouveau, you see.
If I try and run Ubuntu on it, then I am faced with a non-starting X
session. Now I'm not any good at this, I'm a non-programmer! Appending

Change the primary monitor in nvidia-settings to be the second one.
If you save the config, and after a reboot it fails, all you have to do is
delete the /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Following on from my new monitor thread, I ended up with a Viewsonic VG2227WM
22" Monitor. I know this wasn't mentioned in that thread, but for various
reasons that is what I ended up with. And, as suggested, I also replaced my
Matrox card (new graphics card is an ASUS geforce EN210 Silent)
