The last couple of updates to Chrome on my Ubuntu 10.04 have
been well nigh unusable. If I move the mouse over the screen the
whole thing starts flickering and redrawing itself. The latest

I've just installed Thunderbird 8 on my Ubunto 10 desktop.
I can point the Thunderbird entry in the main menu at the new T'bird
startup file (which I've manually installed in
/usr/local/bin/thunderbird... and it seems to work ok)
