Just fired up a Live CD and trying to look for clues as to why keyboard and mouse aren't working in my nackered install of Jaunty. To clarify we have what appears to be a successful boot to the login prompts on the Ubuntu splash screen but neither mouse nor keyboard are doing anything. hence the
