I use m.gmail.com or m.google.com on my neo freerunner running the FDOm
distro and it works fine.
I have managed to log in using the full blown AJ
yes its quite slow but works nonetheless!!

Did you set "Always use HTTPS" in the Gmail settings? That /may/ cause problems.
