Another option is to ditch the xbox and get something like the popcorn hour (http://www.popcornhour.com/onlinestore/) which as an optional wireless dongle. It also supports full HD so you could fit a hard drive into it and copy over HD from the network to play - although obviously coping over t

If you look on the android market place there is an application called gMote which let's you control windows, mac and even linux over wifi, this may be what your looking for from the remote side. Can't really help with the xbox connectivity since I have never used one other than to play games. On

XBMC has a web page built into it that can be used as a remote. So you could connect your android to the wirless network and then use that to control the xbox. I haven't used this for a long time though as it was a bit rubbish - the official xbox remote was much better. I don't know about Gmote
