This question may be more apt to be asked at the forums, but I thought it may
not hurt to ask here.
I had installed 11.04 on a friends desktop. This past weekend I tried to do an
network upgrade, i.e. update-manager -d and upgrade.
However, if the setting is to upgrade only to LTS
I think the documentation is right in this case - generally, you can't
upgrade from a mid cycle release to directly to the LTS and bypass the
other mid cycle releases. The supported option is to upgrade to 11.10, then
upgrade to 12.04.
